Pat, you're an integral member of the Democratic Party, which is why I hope you'll give me a moment to explain the DNC's strategy for winning the White House in 2020: Donald Trump has been campaigning for over two years and stockpiling money and resources for his re-election. His campaign has already raised over $129 million (a staggering, unprecedented amount for a sitting president), and is making serious investments in data, technology, and digital ads to spread his message and energize his base. Simply put, Trump has a tremendous advantage right now, and we have to kick things into high gear immediately if we hope to catch up and elect a Democratic president. That's why today, the DNC officially launched our One-Term President Fund -- a fund specifically dedicated to taking on Trump and the GOP's fundraising machine in 2020. We've set an ambitious goal of 50,000 individual donors to join this effort before March 1 in order to stay on track to win back the White House and seats nationwide. The way the Democratic Party is going to win back the White House in 2020 is by relying on this committed grassroots team. President Trump and the RNC may have a head start, but I know they're no match for the powerful movement we've built together. If you're committed to beating Trump and Republicans in 2020, make a $3 contribution to the DNC today. Our fight to win the White House and seats nationwide depends on the support of grassroots 2016 donors like you. This past election cycle made it clear that the DNC succeeds when we build our party from the grassroots, which is why our party is counting on this group of committed Democrats to help accomplish our goals for defeating Trump and Republicans in the months and years ahead. Here's some of what we have to do together if we hope to win this thing:
Will you donate $3 -- or whatever you can afford -- to the Democratic Party's One-Term President Fund? We're aiming for 50,000 individual donors to step up and join this movement before March 1, and we cannot do it without you. Thank you for being a part of this, Joe Joe Smolskis Chief Financial Officer Democratic National Committee P.S. The DNC has set an ambitious goal of 50,000 individual donors to step up and make a donation to the One-Term President Fund before March 1. Will you be one of them? Chip in $3, or whatever you can afford, if you're committed to defeating Trump and the GOP in 2020. |
