It's time to elect leaders with the courage to stand up to the gun lobby

The vast majority of Americans want Congress to take action to make our communities safer from gun violence, and it's about time we had the courage to do something about it.

DemocratsJoin us.
Pat --

Tomorrow will mark one year since 17 innocent students and educators were massacred in Parkland, Florida. And the response from Congress since that day has been incomprehensible: We've done nothing at all.

Thankfully, our democracy does not allow for elected officials to be so far out of step with the views and values of our constituents for very long.

Because the truth is, there may be division on this issue in Congress between Republicans and Democrats, but there is none when it comes to the people we serve. More than 90 percent of Americans -- including a majority of Democrats, independents, Republicans, and even gun owners -- want action that will make our communities safer from gun violence.

What we showed last November is that if Congress won't act to make it happen, then the American people will elect a Congress that will.

But we still have a long way to go. There are more seats we need to win. And the gun lobby is already working hard to erase the gains we made last cycle. The work ahead is not going to be easy, Pat. Which is why I need committed grassroots supporters like you on board.

So I have to ask you to do something important today:

Will you make a $3 contribution to elect Democrats nationwide in 2019 and 2020? Every dollar raised will help fight for our values from the school board to the Oval Office and get to work on solving our country's gun violence epidemic.

Thanks for stepping up to elect Democrats with the courage to take on the gun lobby.

Every best wish,

Chris

U.S. Senator, Connecticut
