I'm going to take a break from emailing you

Democrats
Pacquiao --

We've been emailing you a lot lately -- I know.

But we're only doing it because this year matters so incredibly much.

What we have on hand at midnight tonight determines how hard we can fight, for both President Obama and other Democrats in close races nationwide.

Our organizing program, press outreach, and digital teams are waiting for tonight to see what they'll have to work with this June, July, and August.

The critical FEC fundraising deadline is just hours away. What we do with it is up to you.

Can you chip in whatever you can to help Democrats before midnight?

Debbie

Tomorrow at midnight

Democrats
Pacquiao --

Tomorrow at midnight is our big May fundraising deadline.

Here's what it means: The resources we raise before then will power Democrats through the fights that matter this summer.

Whatever it is that drives you -- whether it's the promise that everyone gets a fair shake in America, that our generation should leave this nation better than we found it, or that everyone deserves quality health care and education -- I can promise you that our fight is going strong.

But behind that fight are hundreds of thousands of folks like you, chipping in what they can. These grassroots donations make sure that Democrats will always be able to stand up when we need to. And right now, it's more important than ever for you to pitch in.

Show that you're in for what's ahead before the deadline tomorrow at midnight:

https://my.democrats.org/May-Deadline

Thanks,

Patrick

P.S. -- These monthly deadlines are more than just necessary to budget our resources accurately. They're important demonstrations of our organization's strength, and how many people are with you and me in supporting Democrats and our values. Please donate what you can today.

Meet me in New York

Pacquiao --

Next month, I'm going to be at an event in New York with President Obama -- and we'd like you to join us.

Want to bring a guest and meet us there?

If you pitch in right now to help him and Democrats across the country in 2012, you'll be automatically entered for the chance to meet us in New York.

Here's why this election is so important for the causes we believe in: We don't just have the presidency on the line this year. We have the Senate to keep, and the House to win back.

I know what it's like to be working against a Republican majority in both -- and we need to do everything we can to give President Obama a Congress that will work with him.

I'm ready to do whatever I can to help President Obama and Democrats get this done.

But ultimately it is up to you.

Chip in $5 or more to help the Democratic Party, and be automatically entered to meet us in New York:

https://my.democrats.org/Two-Presidents-and-You

Thanks,

Bill Clinton

Meet two presidents -- airfare and hotel covered

Democrats
Pacquiao --

I've been around the political block a few times, and I have to say: You don't want to miss this chance to meet President Obama and President Clinton.

Two presidents, a night in New York City, chatting it up and telling stories -- with you.

Chip in $3 or more to help Democrats win this year, and you'll be automatically entered to join them. I'm told airfare and hotel are covered for you and a guest.

I've known President Clinton since he was governor of Arkansas, and I worked hard to help elect him -- and re-elect him -- president.

I'm not shy about my support for President Obama either -- for how he's turning this economy around, how he's fighting for women and speaking out for marriage equality.

They come from very different backgrounds -- one from a town called Hope, the other from the island of Hawaii (sorry, birthers). But what unites them, and this party, is the belief that we are stronger together. That when everyone comes together and does their fair share, we can give everyone a shot at the American dream. They've both lived it.

If you and your guest are picked to go to New York and meet these two presidents, take my word for it: The conversation will be anything but dull.

One DNC supporter is going to be picked next Tuesday at midnight. Don't pass this one up.

Make a donation to Democrats today, and you'll be automatically entered to meet President Obama and President Clinton in New York:

P.S. -- As vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, I also can't stress how critical your support is to helping Democrats win -- from President Obama to the smallest of local state races. Any donation you make today will make a difference.

There's a fight going on in Wisconsin

Democrats
Pacquiao --

Of all the elections we are preparing for in 2012, one of the most important ones isn't happening in November.

On June 5th, the people of Wisconsin will have their chance to recall Governor Scott Walker, whose attacks on workers' and women's rights are the definition of a fireable offense. Democrats are rallying around our nominee, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and with just 14 days to go before the election, we're organizing one of the largest get-out-the-vote efforts in state history.

Will you donate today to help Wisconsin Democrats build the grassroots organization it's going to take to beat Scott Walker and win in 2012?

It's up to Democrats across the country to help win this thing. Organizers and volunteers on the ground across Wisconsin are knocking on doors, talking to neighbors, and making phone calls to make sure voters know the stakes in this year's elections.

The outcome is important to anyone who supports Democratic values, no matter where you live.

Governor Walker has spent the last year and a half dividing Wisconsin. He's cut sweetheart deals for wealthy corporate donors and special interests, while students, families, and workers are facing very different kinds of cuts: slashed budgets for education and teachers, higher health care premiums for tens of thousands, and devastating attacks on the rights of public employees to negotiate wages and working conditions. And Walker's done all this while overseeing the worst jobs record in the country for the last year and a half.

Now he's spending millions in special interest money, including support from the Koch brothers, to buy his way out of a recall.

Our Democratic candidate, Tom Barrett, has made creating jobs a priority his entire career -- as Milwaukee's mayor, he brought the public and private sectors together to transform the region into a thriving business community, bringing hundreds of new jobs, many in clean energy, to Wisconsin. And he did it while defending core Democratic principles -- protecting the environment and the rights of workers, standing up for a woman's right to choose, and supporting a strong middle class.

Choices don't get clearer than this. Winning in Wisconsin sends a powerful message to the far-right extremists, and it starts to roll back their worst offenses. To build our organization and make it happen, Democrats need to come together to turn out hundreds of thousands of voters -- and we all have a part to play.

Wow

Pacquiao --

When Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, I had just started a job registering voters in Chicago.

I remember watching his campaign and thinking, wow, I've never seen a candidate like him.

I ran for president because we lost our way as a country after President Clinton left the White House. So much of the progress he helped make was rolled back. And so much damage was done -- to the middle class, to our reputation abroad, to our shared sense of community.

We can't afford to lose our way again -- and that's what this election is about.

I feel fortunate to have President Clinton on our team today -- he's smart, he's tough, and he's committed to strengthening this organization alongside you.

If you're one of the grassroots supporters picked to meet us in New York, I think you'll see exactly what I mean.

I'm hosting

Pacquiao --

It's my honor to invite you to take part in an event I'm hosting at my home with the President and First Lady on June 14th.

If you can make a donation of any amount today, you'll be automatically entered to win two tickets to New York to join us.

Just before Election Day in 2008, I went to an Obama campaign office in New York and called some undecided voters.

I believed then, as I do now, that if we all chipped in and did our part, we would not only make history, but create meaningful change that so many Americans needed.

For me, this election is even more important than 2008.

As a woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur, I need to believe our country can be a place where everyone has a fair shot at success.

This November's election will determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we're forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden -- while people like me, who don't need tax breaks, get extra help.

I'm hosting this event on June 14th because there is so much at stake this year, and I want to keep doing what I can.

I hope you'll help me welcome President Obama and the First Lady to New York.

It should be fabulous.

Donate $3 or whatever you can to be automatically entered to win:

Hope to see you there,

"Its largest ad assault against President Obama yet"

Democrats
Pacquiao --

Remember when I emailed you about the impending $300 million ad blitz to tear down President Obama?

The Crossroads attack ads just launched -- and we absolutely can't afford to let them go unanswered.

Karl Rove's outside group is pouring $25 million into a massive round of TV ad buys, spanning ten key battleground states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, Iowa, Colorado, and Nevada.

Reuters called it "its largest ad assault against President Barack Obama yet" -- and Rove and his allies have promised to spend another $275 million in attack ads before this thing is over.

If you were waiting for a time to be part of Democrats winning this year, it's now.

Please pitch in $3 or whatever you can to help Democrats stave off these nasty attacks with rapid response in these ten states and more:

https://my.democrats.org/Fight-Their-Ad-Blitz

Let's stop this before the damage is done.

Thanks,

Patrick

-----------------Original Message-----------------
From: Patrick Gaspard, Democrats.org
Subject: The first major "anti-Obama" campaign

Friend --

Huge news -- Karl Rove's super PAC, American Crossroads, is launching its first major "anti-Obama" ad campaign this year.

With plans to spend as much as $300 million, yesterday they announced a plan to destroy President Obama's standing with voters in key battleground states in an ad blitz slated from now until July.

Why so early? They said they hope to "dislodge voters from him" before the general election even starts.

We can't stop their ads -- but we can fight back with every resource we have.

Pitch in $3 or more today to push back against American Crossroads' early ad blitz.

Here's something that gets me especially fired up: Their attack line in these ads is apparently going to be that the President isn't "up for the job." This is coming from Karl Rove and other former Bush advisors -- the exact same people who championed the reckless economic policies that brought us to the brink of another Great Depression -- and left us holding the bag. It's pretty outrageous.

This news of their massive -- and entirely negative -- ad campaign shows they're not interested in letting their nominee compete against President Obama in earnest. They don't want to run on the issues, or let voters choose between two visions for our country -- they just want to destroy Barack Obama.

The worst part is it could work. Look at how Romney and his super PAC have beaten Santorum and Gingrich: they come in state-by-state, drop millions in negative ads, and jump his poll numbers by sometimes more than double-digits to win.

It doesn't matter if it's true. If you can afford to put lies on TV 30 times a day, folks could start to reconsider the truth.

We're not going to let that happen. For every negative ad they throw up on the air, we'll launch rapid response communications, and, yes, even our own ads to set the record straight.

I need to know you're ready for this fight -- even if it's earlier than we expected.

Donate $3 or more right now to fight back against American Crossroads' lies:

Fwd: Romney Economics

Democrats
Pacquiao --

Mitt Romney wants voters to focus on his private sector record. He should be careful what he wishes for.

The Obama campaign has put together a new website telling the story of three companies affected by Romney's private sector record. It's called RomneyEconomics.com -- and you should check it out today.

The email below was sent to a group of grassroots supporters dedicated to holding Mitt Romney accountable, and getting the truth out about President Obama's record. You can be a part of that team by signing up here:

http://my.democrats.org/Romney-Economics

Thanks,

Patrick

Patrick Gaspard
Executive Director

-------Original Message-------
From: Stephanie Cutter, BarackObama.com
Subject: Romney Economics

Friend--

On the campaign trail, Mitt Romney points to his private sector experience as his chief qualification to be president.

So we took a look at that experience, and put together a new site, RomneyEconomics.com, on it. Take a look for yourself here.

Let me sum up how Romney economics works:

Romney and his partners bought companies across the United States, often loading them up with debt in the process.

Too often, they slashed pensions, benefits, and jobs, while paying themselves and their shareholders straight from the debt they'd accumulated.

Because of that debt, several of these businesses went bankrupt, leaving workers without jobs, without pensions, and without health care -- all while Romney and his partners walked away with millions.

Everyone understands that businesses rise and fall -- and sometimes fail -- and no one is challenging Romney's right to run his business as he saw fit or questioning private equity as a whole.

But when a handful of people make a fortune by putting thousands out of work and bankrupting once-healthy businesses, it's legitimate to question whether those are the values America needs in a president -- and whether those are the values that will create an economy built to last, with a strong, secure middle class.

On the campaign trail, Mitt Romney claims that what he and his partners did is the very best of what capitalism can be. He claims to know how to create jobs based on that experience, but even his former partners admitted their business was never about creating jobs -- it was about creating wealth for investors.

Just listen to the workers of GST Steel: Mitt Romney came in, ravaged it with debt, and it ended up filing for bankruptcy. 750 workers lost their jobs and health care, and Romney's managers left their pension fund $44 million short. The 113-year-old steel mill closed its doors, and Romney's company made a 150% profit on their initial investment.

As RomneyEconomics.com shows, stories like that happened time and time again. That approach, where a few people do very well no matter what the cost to others, is the last thing we need in a president.

Romney's economics would be a disaster for the middle class. We can't afford an economy where even when the company fails, the financial wizards walk away with millions, while the workers who have invested years growing the company are left holding the bag. That won't make our economy -- or our country -- stronger.

As part of the Truth Team, it's up to us to spread the truth behind Mitt Romney's business record. We don't need to spin it here, the facts speak for themselves.

So take a look around the site -- check out the year-by-year statistics and hear from the workers and managers affected by Mitt Romney and his business partners. Then share these stories far and wide:

http://my.democrats.org/Romney-Economics

There's too much at stake in this election not to.

My best friend

Pacquiao --

If you're lucky enough to get to marry your best friend, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Michelle amazes me every day, and in the years we've been together, nothing inspires me more than watching her be a mom to our two girls.

Each of us has amazing women in our lives who give us strength and encouragement, and no matter what we do on Mother's Day, it never seems like enough.

This year, I wanted to try something a little different. I know Michelle treasures every single person who is part of this movement we've built, so I'm hoping each of you will sign my card to her today. It'll mean a lot to her.

Marriage equality

Democrats
Pacquiao --

"I think same-sex couples should be able to get married."

That's what our President said yesterday afternoon, and with it, made history.

Let's show that we're right there with him:

Add your name alongside other Democrats in support of marriage equality today.

The President made clear that he's always stood up for LGBT rights -- whether in fighting to get hospital visitation rights for LGBT patients and their loved ones, or ending "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

But he said what brought him to support same-sex marriage, more than anything, is his strong belief in equal rights for everyone.

In his own words, "When I meet gay and lesbian couples, when I meet same-sex couples and I see how caring they are, how much love they have in their hearts, how they're taking care of their kids, when I hear from them the pain they feel that somehow they are still considered less than full citizens when it comes to their legal rights, then for me I think it just has tipped the scales in that direction."

Folks, this is what Democrats are all about -- and I'm so proud we have a president who's willing to stand up and say it.

Let's join him. Show your support for marriage equality today:

Marriage

Pacquiao --

Today, I was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer:

I believe that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.

I hope you'll take a moment to watch the conversation, consider it, and weigh in yourself on behalf of marriage equality:

http://my.democrats.org/Marriage

I've always believed that gay and lesbian Americans should be treated fairly and equally. I was reluctant to use the term marriage because of the very powerful traditions it evokes. And I thought civil union laws that conferred legal rights upon gay and lesbian couples were a solution.

But over the course of several years I've talked to friends and family about this. I've thought about members of my staff in long-term, committed, same-sex relationships who are raising kids together. Through our efforts to end the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, I've gotten to know some of the gay and lesbian troops who are serving our country with honor and distinction.

What I've come to realize is that for loving, same-sex couples, the denial of marriage equality means that, in their eyes and the eyes of their children, they are still considered less than full citizens.

Even at my own dinner table, when I look at Sasha and Malia, who have friends whose parents are same-sex couples, I know it wouldn't dawn on them that their friends' parents should be treated differently.

So I decided it was time to affirm my personal belief that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.

I respect the beliefs of others, and the right of religious institutions to act in accordance with their own doctrines. But I believe that in the eyes of the law, all Americans should be treated equally. And where states enact same-sex marriage, no federal act should invalidate them.

If you agree, you can stand up with me here.

Thank you,

Barack

Tune in to President Obama's first rally

Pacquiao --

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 5th, are the first big rallies of the 2012 campaign.

Folks are getting together in Ohio and Virginia to show their support for President Obama and the progress we've made.

Want to tune in? Just visit BarackObama.com/Live at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time for the rally's livestream.

Here's something else that's pretty cool. Supporters across the country are sending in messages of support, and some will be shown live on the big screen during the rally.

Check out the note from Vice President Joe Biden below if you'd like to send a message -- and don't forget to tune in tomorrow afternoon.

Fired up,

Patrick

Subject: Get your note and name on the big screen

Friend --

The first big rallies of 2012 are taking place this Saturday, and thousands of people are coming together in Ohio and Virginia to support Barack and this campaign.

Even if you can't be there in person, you can still take part.

This is pretty cool: Messages from supporters across the country will be broadcast on the big screen live during the event.

Send your note, and thousands of folks could see it and your name on the screens at the rallies on Saturday.

For the past month or so, I've been out there talking about the stakes in this election.

We've got the right message, the right record, the right guy. We're focused on moving our country forward and building a stronger economy where everyone gets a fair shot. Our opponent wants to take us back to the very same policies that landed us in an economic mess in the first place.

This campaign is heating up, and I know you're ready to hear from Barack.

So be sure to tune in on Saturday -- there will be a live stream, and we'll shoot you a reminder.

And don't forget to send a message to be shared with thousands of supporters like you during the rallies:

Thanks for all you do. Hope to see you soon,

Joe
