I hope you'll let me explain why, Pat: After a bipartisan investigation exposed absentee ballot tampering paid for by my Republican opponent Mark Harris' campaign, a new election was just called in North Carolina's 9th District. This decision finally gives the people of North Carolina a fair shot at having their voices heard. We're fighting for the integrity of our democracy and for the people of North Carolina, and for me this is personal. Not just because my name is on the ballot, but because that's what I signed up to serve and defend overseas as a United States Marine. But I cannot do this alone -- it's going to take dedicated supporters like you giving what they can to help us win. So, I have to ask: Will you make a $10 donation to my campaign and the DNC today? I didn't serve overseas in the Marines to come home to North Carolina and watch a criminal bankrolled by my opponent take away people's right to vote. Winning this race would send a clear message to Republicans: We will not let them suppress votes and force their way to power. With this new race underway, my campaign is hitting the ground running. It's going to require an unprecedented level of grassroots support and organizing power to win this election, but I know we can flip this seat. We've won close special elections before -- Doug Jones' Senate race in 2017 and then Conor Lamb's House race just last year -- and we can do it again in North Carolina's 9th District.
