Collins, Gardner, McSally

Republicans in the Senate voted to acquit Donald Trump on two counts: Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
DemocratsJoin us.

Two weeks ago, after conducting a sham trial, Republicans in the Senate voted to acquit Donald Trump on two counts: Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Here's what we learned from that vote: Senators like Susan Collins, Cory Gardner, and Martha McSally want voters to believe they won't just fall in line behind Trump. But when it came down to it, they voted with nearly every other Republican senator to give a green light to Trump's corruption.

Each of those aforementioned Republican senators -- and 22 more -- are up for reelection this year, Pat. The Democratic Party is building the grassroots support required to defeat incumbent Republicans like them -- but it requires all of us coming together early on when it matters most.

Donate $7 today to send a message to Republicans in the Senate that Democrats are fighting to win in 2020.

The impeachment vote showed these Republican senators' true colors, but if you needed any more proof of why we must vote them out of office this year, just take a look at this list:

  • Once upon a time, Susan Collins was known for breaking with her party to do the right thing. Now, Collins votes with Trump almost 70% of the time and has become the least popular senator in the country.

  • Cory Gardner faces an uphill climb toward reelection in 2020, but he held the party line when it came time to choose between standing up to this president and falling in line behind Mitch McConnell.

  • Martha McSally lost to Kyrsten Sinema in 2018, but was then appointed to fill John McCain's old seat. Arizonans didn't send her to Washington, a Republican governor did -- and she's doing everything in her power to stay in the good graces of Donald Trump.

At the end of the day, all but one Republican senator voted to acquit Donald Trump without so much as hearing from a single witness. We cannot rely on Republicans to stand up for our democracy and get us out of this mess. Our only option is to elect Democrats from the school board to the White House, and to do that, we need your help now.

Chip in $7 today and help us flip the Senate and defeat Republicans nationwide in 2020.

Thanks for your support.
