[Black History Month] President Obama's impact

Watch this video celebrating President Obama and his legacy.
DemocratsJoin us.

Hi, Pat, I'm Braxton. As the senior video producer at DNC HQ, I get to tell a lot of stories about our party and the causes and people we're fighting for. In honor of Black History Month, we put together a special video featuring my fellow Black DNC staffers recounting President Obama's story and how his legacy deeply impacted our country -- and all of us in the process. I hope you'll take a moment to watch.

In no other country on earth is my story even possible.

President Obama's story is intrinsically American, and his presidency marked a major point in our country's arc toward justice and equality. Under the Obama administration, we saw rapid progress in the battle for equality through the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, and the opposition to the Defense of Marriage Act. When our White House grew in diversity, Congress and state legislatures did too -- and our laws and policies followed suit.

President Obama fought to put this country on a course that we can all be proud of -- and that's a huge part of why I'm so proud to be on the team working to elect Democrats across the country.

I hope you'll enjoy watching this video. Please, Pat, once you're done watching be sure to share this video with your family and friends.

Thank you,

Braxton
