Where we are vs. where we need to be

We're at an enormous fundraising disadvantage going into 2020 -- we need to change that.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat, I'll get straight to it, because we don't have a second to waste: Our party is at a serious fundraising disadvantage going into 2020.

Trump and the RNC have raised a record $300 million this year, and right now, we're not keeping pace. While we don't have to match that amount dollar for dollar, we do absolutely have to hit important fundraising benchmarks to support our programs. Our last FEC deadline of the year falls on midnight this Tuesday. Bluntly, I'm worried that we're not where we need to be going into the most consequential election of our lifetimes.

I've run a presidential campaign and led the DNC during particularly turbulent times for our country -- so I know where our party should be tracking ahead of an election year. Despite our best efforts and all of your hard work, I'm worried we might come up short of the goals we need to meet in order to hand our eventual nominee a fully-funded operation. That's an option we can't afford, which is why I'm asking:

Pat, will you chip in $7 today to help put Democrats in a strong position before 2020? With stakes as high as these, any amount you can afford to give will go a long way.

At this point in the election cycle, before we have a nominee, the Democratic Party has one job: to build a campaign apparatus that will power every Democrat -- including our future nominee -- to victory in the coming year. That was our strategy when I was chair of the DNC during the 2008 primary, and the resources we amassed before the general election helped ensure a victory for Barack Obama and Democrats down the ticket. I can tell you from firsthand experience that our party seriously needs to pick up our fundraising pace or we could face severe consequences on Election Day.

Our strength is in numbers. Together, we can build the strongest Democratic Party in recent history that our candidates will rely on to beat Trump and the Republicans. But we need your help to get there.

We're just not where we need to be to hit our final FEC fundraising goal of 2019, and we're running out of time. Will you make a $7 contribution to the Democratic Party before our deadline so we can catch up before 2020?

Thanks for your support,

Howard
