| I'm so proud of all we accomplished in 2019. Truly, we couldn't have done it without grassroots supporters like you, who account for the majority of what we raise. I'm proud to say that small-dollar donors are truly democratizing our party and our political system. I wanted to take a moment to share a little about your impact this year, and then ask you to make a special year-end gift of $7 to help continue that work in 2020. Here's what we were able to accomplish together: - The biggest data and tech overhaul in over a decade. We built in a new, stable platform to house our voter file that will support around 7,000 campaigns in 2020. We put a ton of work into ensuring we had the right tech, which is going to be critical to our success in 2020. Equally important, it's far more secure than our old system and allows for continuous innovation.
- The first paid mass recruiting and training program in DNC history with Organizing Corps 2020. We paid and trained 300 young organizers in seven battleground states. That group will be part of a cohort of 1,000 organizers our nominee will inherit -- and need to win -- in 2020.
Here's the truth, Pat: Campaigns always struggle to find talented and trained staff local to the communities they are seeking to organize. That's why it's so exciting that our OC2020 organizers are from the communities they are organizing -- and they're ready to get to work. In addition to OC2020, our Best Practices Institute trained over 12,000 individuals in 2020. - Increased funding to state parties by at least 33% over 2015, in addition to awarding over $2 million in innovative grants to support organizers on the ground, voter registration, data enhancements, and digital programs. In 2017, we became a 50-state party again because the moment calls for nothing less -- we must invest everywhere to win everywhere.
- We pushed our hyper-localized messaging through our battleground states project. While our candidates have robust conversations on policy and values and the direction of our country, we are making sure that Americans know that Donald Trump has been completely ineffective and broken his promises.
- Run a fair and transparent nominating process. One of my goals for 2019 was to make sure everything around the nominating process was clear to all our candidates and the public -- the nominating process, how we at the DNC would share information, and how they could reach us.
We have a lot of candidates. Every single one of them offers a vision for America that aligns with our Democratic values. But only one of them will become our nominee. We have to come together as a party in 2020 to defeat the greatest threat to our democracy we have faced in modern times. Repairing trust with Democratic voters is in many ways job number one, and we must do it to win in 2020. I hope you enjoyed hearing about all you made possible in 2019, Pat. As we go into the new year, I'm going to keep doing my part -- and I ask that you'll join me: Donate $7 before Tuesday's deadline to ensure our party can sustain our momentum in 2020. Thank you for considering an end-of-year donation to the party. We can't do it without you. Onward, Seema Seema Nanda Chief Executive Officer Democratic National Committee | | | |
