Here’s a little secret:

I have always said that change begins on the ground. That is to say, change begins with you.
DemocratsJoin us.

I have always said that change begins on the ground, Pat. That is to say, change begins with you.

I saw it time and time again during my eight years as senior advisor to President Obama. From creating the movement that carried us to the White House, to delivering progress for working families, you were the force pushing us forward. Now, as we face the most important election of our lifetimes, our country is looking to you again.

We cannot afford to get frustrated or distracted by the news of the day. We must remain laser-focused on building the infrastructure our Democratic candidates will rely on to win back the White House and seats down the ballot in 2020. On Tuesday, our party faces its most important FEC deadline of the year, and I am asking you to act today to keep us on track to win progress at the ballot box next year.

Will you contribute $7 to the Democratic National Committee before their final deadline of the year? The strength of our party as we enter 2020 matters tremendously to Democrats' chances of victory in November.

Here's a little secret: Creating the change we need is not just about winning. It's also about governing.

During President Obama's time in office, we worked with Democrats in Congress to revitalize our economy, pass the Affordable Care Act, repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell, make it easier for women to fight for equal pay, ensure same-sex marriage was upheld by the Supreme Court, put in place key safeguards to protect our environment both globally and at home, and so much more. We made change for so many Americans, which is why it is so hard to watch Donald Trump and his administration rip apart those accomplishments every single day.

We have an impressive slate of Democratic candidates, running on progressive ideas like paid family leave, gun violence legislation, expanding health care, and growing our economy. But no Democratic president can deliver on their vision alone. They will need a Democratic House and Senate to support them, as well as Democratic lawmakers at the local level to govern with our shared Democratic values in their communities.

The work being done at the DNC right now is exactly what we need to achieve this. From hiring and training organizers in battleground states, to the biggest data and tech overhaul in over a decade, to increased investment in state parties: The pieces are in place to win the progress we want. We just need to come together to support it.

Make a $7 donation before Tuesday's deadline to ensure our party has the resources it needs to win up and down the ticket in 2020.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Valerie

P.S. We can't afford to get weary, frustrated or distracted by what is happening. We have to get busy to tackle the big issues of economic equality, climate change, health care, and more! That's why I am asking you to chip in $7 to support Democrats before Tuesday's big deadline.
