2020 is the year we go four for four (and other quick points to get you through the holiday politics talk)

Here's what I tell my family, friends, and fellow Democrats when they ask me what's happening at the DNC:
DemocratsJoin us.

This week, when your friends or family members talk politics or ask your opinion on this election, I want to be sure you have the latest information -- straight from the DNC. I hope you'll give me a second to tell you about some of this year's highlights and the hard work still to come:

  1. Democrats CAN overcome the challenge of defeating Donald Trump and his allies next year. Just look at our track record, Pat. There have been three Novembers since Trump took office, and Democrats have won decisive victories in all of them. 2020 is the year we make it four for four.

  2. However, this is going to be a really damned hard election to win. Trump and the RNC have built up a huge fundraising lead since he announced his reelection campaign on the day he took office. It's going to be a steep, uphill battle to compete with their incumbency advantage and massive $300 million fundraising haul.

  3. Our success in 2020 -- and the likelihood of winning the White House, flipping the Senate, and holding the House -- depends on the power of our grassroots movement right now. Can you pitch in a modest donation to keep our party's urgent work fully funded? I wouldn't ask if it weren't absolutely crucial.

If friends or loved ones ask what they can do to help restore some sanity to our nation, my advice to you is to tell them this: Get involved. You're a committed member of this team, Pat, so our party is depending on you to let fellow Democrats in your life know that this will be a really tough fight. What we can accomplish together in this final week of 2019 will make a big impact on 2020, so I have to ask:

Will you pitch in a special $7 end-of-year contribution to our party? Even a small gift would go a long way to help fund the programs our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats everywhere will need to win.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope you have a great holiday season.

Tom
