Never did I expect this, Pat

We have a responsibility to our democratic values -- and we must remember that.
DemocratsJoin us.

I've had the honor of serving in the House for over 38 years. I've served during six presidencies. I've been in Congress through moments of tremendous progress and terrible tragedy. I've seen periods of rank partisanship and patriotic bipartisanship. I've seen our two-party system work, and I've seen it break down.

Never, in all my years serving in this great institution and the people of my district, did I ever expect to encounter such obvious wrongdoing by a president of the United States. That is why earlier this month my Democratic House colleagues and I solemnly voted to impeach Donald Trump.

This was a grave decision -- and one that was essential to defending the pillars of our democracy. Despite all of this, we cannot lose sight of what's on the horizon: Winning back our country for working people by electing Democrats from state office to the Oval Office next year. It's the only way we can finish the jobs my Democratic colleagues in the House started this year -- lowering prescription drug costs, investing in infrastructure, rooting out the culture of corruption, and more. These priorities are too urgent to risk another four years of the Trump administration's boundless corruption.

Winning nationwide in 2020 will be a difficult task, which is why we must show we're prepared for that fight before 2019 comes to an end. That is why I hope you'll make your first donation of 2019 before the year ends right now:

Support the Democratic Party with a $7 donation before tomorrow's critical FEC deadline.

The Democratic National Committee plays a vital role in getting Democrats from all backgrounds the resources to run effective campaigns and win -- and they're the only organization responsible for that work at every level of office.

In my nearly four decades serving in Congress, the DNC has been a constant and reliable resource for well-trained organizers, modern technology, and voter protection efforts. But we need those critical resources in abundance to win what will very likely be the most important election of our lifetimes.

Donate $7 to the Democratic National Committee before tomorrow's critical end-of-year deadline to protect our House majority, win the White House, and more. Anything you can contribute before the end of the year makes an incredible difference.

Thanks for your support,

Steny
