Taking on corruption, together

No matter who our nominee is, they will depend on the support of the strongest Democratic Party possible.

The following message is a part of our 2020 Presidential Candidate Series. For more information, see below.

Pat --

Our democracy has been hijacked by rich and powerful special interests. They make Washington work for themselves, and they leave everyone else behind. It's corruption, pure and simple. We need to call it out, and we need to fight back with big, structural change.

I'm running for president because I know what's broken, I know how to fix it, and I'll fight to get it done.

But I can't do this alone -- it's going to take a grassroots movement.

That's where the Democratic Unity Fund comes in. The Democratic Unity Fund will make sure that our nominee will have the resources they need to take on Donald Trump, the RNC, and the corporate special interests that have the GOP in their pockets. The DNC is working hard to ensure our candidates up and down the ticket have everything they need to be successful next year -- but that success depends on people like you, Pat.

Will you split a $3 contribution between my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund to help build the infrastructure our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats everywhere will need to win across the map in 2020?

I'm in this fight to end Washington corruption, rebuild the middle class, and strengthen our democracy.

We can make our government work for the people -- just look at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I had an idea, we got organized, we took on Wall Street CEOs and armies of lobbyists and lawyers, and we won. Now, that agency has put $12 billion back in the hands of people who got cheated by financial institutions.

Here's the way I see it: We need big ideas to fix the big challenges of our time, inspire people, take on generations of systemic racism and discrimination, be the lifeblood of our party, and win up and down the ballot in 2020.

And no matter who our nominee is, we'll need the strongest possible Democratic Party -- so we can win the White House, keep the House, take back the Senate, put Mitch McConnell out of a job, and win governors' races and state legislative seats across the country. And we don't have any time to spare.

The Democratic Unity Fund's powerfully important work will fuel our candidates up and down the ballot in 2020 -- by training organizers in key battleground states, running a best-in-class data warehouse, and doing critical opposition research on Donald Trump and his corporate cronies.

It's going to take all of us coming together to make sure the Democratic Unity Fund is strong enough. That's why I wanted to ask you to make your first contribution to the fund today.

Can I count on you to donate $3 to my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund?

Thanks for being a part of this,

Elizabeth

P.S. We cannot wait for a single second to start building the strong party the Democratic nominee for president needs to win in 2020. Which is why I am asking: Will you split a $3 donation between my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund today?

Sending fundraising emails like this one is a component of our Democratic candidates' agreement with the DNC to share access to the DNC's database of voter records. As a part of our agreement, every candidate who signs on sends the same number of emails to the DNC's list, with proceeds going to a combination of the DNC and the candidate's campaign. If you're wondering why you're not hearing from your preferred candidate, we may have already sent emails on their behalf or have plans to do so in the future, or they may not have signed on yet.
