Pat, did you know that one of the most powerful ways that the Democratic Party connects with supporters across the country is by harnessing the power of digital ads? Running digital ads is just one of the many ways that grassroots donations to the DNC (most of which come through emails just like this one) are already being put to work to defeat Donald Trump and Republicans. Since you were one of the DNC's most generous grassroots donors in 2016, I hope you'll give me a moment to explain why building out the DNC's ads program is so urgent, some key parts of our ad strategy, and what our party is doing to engage and mobilize Democrats across the country. TRUMP'S AGGRESSIVE AD SPENDINGTrump and the RNC know that running a robust online ads program will be key to winning the White House in 2020. It's why the Trump campaign has consistently been one of the top political ad spenders on Facebook and Google, and why they're running thousands of variations of digital ads to build an online army that Trump will be able to mobilize against our eventual Democratic nominee for president. Trump and his campaign spent more than $5.8 million on digital ads in 2018 alone and over $4.5 million in the past three months, so we absolutely have to turn up the pressure by making major investments in our own online ads program ASAP.WHAT THE DNC IS DOING ONLINETake a look at a few of the ads the Democratic Party is currently running on Facebook:Ads like these are absolutely essential when it comes to getting Democrats onboard to knock on doors, talk to voters ahead of Election Day, and contribute to build a strong party infrastructure in the months ahead. By recruiting new supporters and bringing new Democrats into the fold, we're growing a strong grassroots team that will be ready to rally behind our eventual nominee for president the moment the general election begins. HOW WE WIN IN THE MONTHS AHEADIn order to win in 2020, our party needs to kick our digital ads program into high gear while it's still early in the race. Trump and his campaign may have a massive fundraising and ad spending lead, but our party has something even more powerful: We have you. If this committed grassroots team comes together to chip in whatever we can, whenever we can, we'll be able to raise the funds we need to support our Democratic candidates and win the White House in 2020. But that cannot happen without your help, Pat.The DNC is the sole party committee tasked with putting a Democrat in the White House next year, so we have to be ready to support our eventual nominee the second the general election begins. So, I have to ask: Will you make a $3 contribution right now to help the DNC build the critical infrastructure it'll take to win up and down the ballot in 2020? Even a few dollars will make a big difference in our efforts to grow our online ads program and win seats nationwide. Thanks for being a part of this, Clarke Clarke Humphrey Director of Online Fundraising Democratic National Committee P.S. The Trump campaign has spent over $4.5 million on digital ads since December, so they currently have a massive head start against any of our potential Democratic nominees. Donate $3 to the DNC to help narrow the GOP's lead and build the strong party infrastructure it'll take to win in 2020. |
