Pat, when you make a donation to the DNC, that money isn't just shuttered until we have a Democratic nominee. Your donation goes straight to work helping to elect a Democrat to the White House and win seats up and down the ballot, and I hope you'll give me a chance to explain why your support at this point in the cycle is so important: The Democratic Party is already working around the clock building the critical party infrastructure our eventual Democratic nominee and our candidates across the country will need to win in 2020. One of our party's most urgent and important priorities is funding Organizing Corps 2020 -- a first-of-its-kind investment in organizing that will train hundreds of talented, homegrown field organizers to work on the 2020 general election. The DNC has never invested in organizing for the general election this early in a presidential cycle, which means two things. The first is that the Organizing Corps 2020 field team will give our eventual nominee a vital, competitive edge they will need to organize and mobilize voters in the fight against Trump and the GOP, especially in the states we lost in 2016. The second is that this program is still not fully funded, but we couldn't just sit around waiting for the money to show up. And we're so serious about taking the White House back in 2020 that we didn't -- the DNC is counting on the early support of grassroots 2016 donors like you to power this critically important program. Our eventual Democratic nominee can't win unless we make serious, early investments in community organizing starting now. A monthly contribution to the DNC is the single most powerful way to prepare our party to take on Donald Trump. Putting a single organizer through this program costs $10,000, so it's one of the most expensive, but also one of the most important investments we'll make this cycle. Start a monthly sustaining contribution to the DNC to fund essential projects like Organizing Corps 2020. Your early, continued support for our party will be put directly to work building the party infrastructure our eventual Democratic nominee will inherit for their fight against Trump and the GOP. Launching this program now means we can recruit the best talent possible and give our fellows the extensive, on-the-ground training they'll need to lift our eventual Democratic nominee to victory -- but it also means that this important investment is happening well before our party's fundraising usually ramps up closer to the general election. Organizing Corps 2020 is one of the most groundbreaking and ambitious programs the DNC has ever embarked on, and it really is one of the most expensive. The only way we can fund this program is if generous grassroots supporters like you step up to make a long-term investment in the success of vital DNC projects like this one. Organizing Corps 2020 could literally be the difference between the Democratic presidential nominee winning or losing in 2020, so your support today is so important. That's why I have to ask: Will you start a monthly sustaining donation to the Democratic Party to help fund Organizing Corps 2020 and other crucial projects that Democrats need to win in 2020? Any amount you can afford, big or small, will make a tremendous difference. Thank you for your support when it matters most, Tom Tom Perez Chair Democratic National Committee |
