Pat, there's no better time to invest in the outcome of the 2020 election than right now -- and no better place to make that investment than the DNC. Every one of our Democratic presidential candidates offers a better path forward than the current administration. Though they each have different ideas about how to restore our democracy, there's one thing they all have in common: They'll each need a strong DNC ready to carry them to victory the moment the general election starts. As I write this, the DNC is hard at work making the necessary improvements in organizing, data, and technology to make that happen. That's why it's so urgent that we hit our first quarter goal before Sunday's deadline. Can I count on you to step up and make a $3 contribution before Sunday's end-of-quarter deadline? Think back to 2016: The Trump campaign was bare-bones, disorganized, and messy. But the moment the general election started, it inherited the RNC's data, tech, and organizing infrastructure -- and that support gave them an edge they needed in the general election. Having a strong party infrastructure can make or break a campaign. With a primary ahead of us, it's even more critical that the DNC is in the strongest position possible for our eventual nominee. As a former DNC chair, I can tell you exactly what that means: Recruiting, training, and paying organizers nationwide, equipping candidates up and down the ballot with all of the tools and technology they need to take the Democratic message to voters, and building up our state parties -- in every state, not just battlegrounds. If we can do that, we will win in November 2020. But it will require us all working together right now to rebuild and strengthen the Democratic Party -- not next year, and certainly not just a few months before Election Day. Before Sunday's critical end-of-quarter deadline, donate $3 to defeat Donald Trump and the GOP in the years ahead. Thank you for standing with Democrats. Tim Tim Kaine U.S. Senator, Virginia |
