This week, Democrats got a presumptive nominee, and the DNC has done so much to prepare for this moment. As we reflect on that, I hope that you'll take a second to read about where we were after 2016 and where we are now:
- When Tom Perez took over in 2017, our data infrastructure was in shambles. We completely overhauled the data and tech infrastructure of the Democratic Party by building the DNC Data Warehouse. Now, candidates, state parties, and Democrats in all 50 states have access to a state-of-the-art system to help mobilize voters nationwide this year.
- Our fundraising was shaped by "on" and "off" years. We put serious thought into our strategy and structure -- and recruited backing from the grassroots to the grasstops -- because we all know that we cannot afford to only elect Democrats every four years. Now, there are no "off" years.
- We weren't talking to voters early enough. So we increased our investment in state parties and made an unprecedented, multimillion-dollar investment in battleground states across the country to keep the conversation going. Now we already have hundreds of young organizers on the ground who will help lift our presumptive nominee and down-ballot Democrats to victory.
- We weren't highlighting Donald Trump's failures at the local level. We relaunched the DNC War Room and beefed up our communications staff in battleground states to help set the record straight.
None of that work would have been possible without the full backing of dedicated supporters like you -- so thank you, Pat.
It's going to take all of us, together, fighting for Democrats over the next 204 days to win in November. Can I count on you to donate $7 for the first time this year today?
Thanks for your support,
Patrick
