Last night, Donald Trump held his second campaign rally of 2020 in Wisconsin. He was in Milwaukee to drum up support for his reelection campaign because he knows he's losing critical ground in a state he narrowly won. And if I were him, I'd be scared too, Pat.
In 2016, Trump only won Wisconsin by a sliver of one percentage point -- and since then, Democrats have gone on to win sweeping victories there and across the country. We're scaling up our efforts to win in 2020 and he knows it -- but we can't continue crucial investments in organizing, data and tech, and voter protection without your support.
We're now just a few months away from the most important election of our lifetimes, Pat, so I'm asking you to be a big part of this election by making your very first contribution of the year to the DNC today. Your support, especially in moments like this one, is vital to helping Democrats take our fight directly to Trump and his powerful allies.
Make a $7 contribution to the One-Term President Fund to help defeat Donald Trump and the GOP this year.
Trump can perform the same hateful song and dance at every rally, but it won't change the facts:
- The DNC has invested heavily in Wisconsin -- and it's already paying off. We trained and recruited field organizers ahead of the 2018 elections. And don't forget, 250 volunteer neighborhood teams knocked on over 500,000 doors before the midterm election. That hard work led to a Democratic sweep of key elections in 2018, and we're tripling that outreach this year to help our eventual nominee and Democrats across the state.
- High voter turnout is how Democrats win -- and we're defending the right to vote in battleground states like Wisconsin. Republicans spend so much time trying to block access to the ballot box because they know this to be true. Our voter protection efforts combined with the DNC's online tools like IWillVote.com help voters through every step of the process from checking registration to casting a ballot.
- Democrats know that the path to 270 runs through Wisconsin. In less than six months, Democrats from across the nation will gather in Milwaukee for the 2020 Democratic National Convention, where we'll officially nominate our party's candidate for president.
Wisconsin is just one of the many states where our party has reaped the rewards of early investments since Trump's election. But to continue that critical work, we're counting on loyal Democrats like you to step up and support the programs necessary for victory. Democrats are counting on your support to fight and win in our most competitive battlegrounds like Wisconsin, so I'm asking:
Donate $7 to the One-Term President Fund today to help elect our eventual nominee and Democrats in all 50 states this November.
In unity,
Tom
