Trump just stepped off the stage at his first campaign rally of 2020 in Toledo, Ohio. Before he leaves the arena, I need you to know what this rally means for his reelection strategy, and what Democrats like you and me have to do about it:
Trump is trying everything he can to rile up his base, deflect from his abuses of power, and distract the American people from his nonstop stream of lies and broken promises. He knows he can't win another four years without Ohio, so he's desperately trying to drum up support to prevent Democrats from gaining critical ground in the state.
Ohio went blue in 2008 and 2012, Pat, and we can keep it in play for 2020 -- but only if we ramp up our investments immediately. That is why I am reaching out right now, while it's still early enough in the race to meaningfully invest in widening our eventual nominee's path to 270.
As one of our strongest supporters, I'm asking you do something important for our party: Will you donate $7 to the DNC's One-Term President Fund before Trump leaves Toledo? Your gift will ensure our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats down the ticket can defeat the GOP in Ohio and nationwide in November.
