At the age of 29, I became one of the first women ever elected to Congress from Iowa, and the youngest woman to ever flip a seat from red to blue. It is both humbling and an honor to be chosen to represent the hardworking people of Iowa's first district, but my election is only the very beginning of our fight. Democrats may have made huge gains in 2018, but we cannot -- and will not -- stop there.
The reason why Democrats like me won nationwide in 2018 was because we invested early and often. We didn't wait until right before Election Day to put in the work. To hold our House majority, take back the Senate, and win the White House this year, we've got to work our tails off now and build the infrastructure Democrats are relying on to win.
The DNC is vital to powering races in competitive districts like mine, not to mention integral to our eventual nominee for president having the resources they'll need to take back the White House. We're facing a huge deadline in just two days, so I'm asking you to support this valuable work today.
Donate $7 to the Democratic National Committee before Friday's deadline to help build the strong party we'll need to elect Democrats nationwide this year. You haven't made a gift to our party yet this year, so I hope I can count on you to chip in for the first time in 2020 today.
Across the country, and especially in Iowa, too many families are being left behind by our current president and his administration. We need a government who believes in uniting our country through common sense, dignity, and respect. And we're not going to get it unless we fight for it.
The Democratic National Committee is the only organization tasked with winning seats from the bottom of the ticket to the top, which means that Democrats nationwide are depending on your support ahead of the first FEC deadline of the year. With only four days until Iowans caucus, I have to ask:
Will you make a $7 donation to support the Democratic National Committee today?
Thank you for your support,
Abby
