Why I joined the race

Our eventual nominee needs your support, starting today.
Join us.
The following message is a part of our 2020 Presidential Candidate Series. For more information, see below.

I believe public service is about finding solutions that actually work for the American people we serve, and that's why I'm running for president. The challenges that face our country will require innovative ideas, hard work, and the ability to get things done. We already know that any of our Democratic presidential candidates are better equipped to take on this work than Donald Trump, but no candidate can get there alone.

That's where you come in, Pat. If we're going to elect a Democrat this year, our eventual nominee will require the support of our entire party -- including you. The DNC is the only official party organization tasked with winning every seat from the White House to the Senate to state legislatures, and your support is critical in this task:

Our future nominee for president and Democrats down the ballot can't do this without you, which is why I'm asking: Will you split a $10 donation between my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund?

I am running for president because I believe so strongly in creating meaningful change -- and I know it will be up to our eventual nominee to do the hard work of reversing the damage done by Trump and his enablers in the past three years.

But that won't be possible without us coming together and electing Democrats at every level of office. That is why I'm asking you to support my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund.

Winning the White House back will be tough, and our best bet is to pool our efforts and throw our collective support behind our eventual nominee, whoever she or he may be. The Democratic Unity Fund is key here -- ensuring that our future nominee and Democrats everywhere will have the full backing of a strong Democratic Party.

Will you chip in $10 to my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund today?

Thanks for being an important part of this.

Deval Patrick

Sending fundraising emails like this one is a component of our Democratic candidates' agreement with the DNC to share access to the DNC's database of voter records. As a part of our agreement, every candidate who signs on sends the same number of emails to the DNC's list, with proceeds going to a combination of the DNC and the candidate's campaign. If you're wondering why you're not hearing from your preferred candidate, we may have already sent emails on their behalf or have plans to do so in the future, or they may not have signed on yet.

The DNC is committed to running a fair and transparent primary. This organization is powered by you, and we'd love to hear your ideas. Just reply to this email to send any comments, criticisms, or feedback. Our community management team reads every message from supporters like you. Thanks for supporting our party!
