Pat --
According to the team at the DNC, you have yet to split a contribution to my campaign since Kamala Harris joined the presidential ticket as my running mate, which is why I'm coming to you with an important favor to ask: Will you split your first $10 contribution between my campaign and the DNC today? We've got a big deadline coming up on Monday, so I hope you'll give me a moment to tell you the truth about the state of our fundraising and why your support is so vital right now.
This Monday will be the first fundraising deadline since I announced that Kamala Harris would be joining the ticket as my running mate. Since she came on board, we've seen an overwhelming surge of momentum. Pat, the race has been transformed. But now that we're just two months away from the end of this election, she and I are running out of time to make our case to every voter possible. That's an incredibly expensive task. So reaching big fundraising goals like the one we've set for Monday is the only way we can make sure that happens.
Asking for money is one of the parts of my job I struggle with the most -- and especially in the middle of a crisis, I understand that it can be a big ask right now. But today, I'm not only asking on behalf of myself. I'm asking for your support for Kamala and for Democrats running difficult races in every corner of this nation, too.
If you can, will you split a $10 donation between my campaign for president and the DNC before Monday's deadline? It'll take a historically united, well-prepared national party to win the White House and important Democratic seats all the way down the ballot, so any amount helps.
I know a thing or two about what it takes to run for vice president, and I can tell you this: It's a hard job. It's an exhausting sprint on the campaign trail -- and there's not a doubt in my mind that Kamala will have it a lot tougher than I did when I campaigned alongside President Obama. This is all to say that we're counting on the strong, united support of this team to fend off Republican attacks, stay focused on the task at hand, and execute our strategies to win.
I can't overstate what this upcoming deadline means for our race for the White House and for Democrats in tough, competitive races all across the country. It's clear that Donald Trump and his Republican enablers are going to try to tear down our democracy in any way they can over these final days, so we've got to have the resources necessary to defeat them and begin the hard work of restoring the soul of this nation. We just can't do this without you, Pat -- not me and Kamala, the DNC, or Democratic candidates down the ballot. That's why I have to ask once more:
Will you split your first $10 contribution between the Biden-Harris campaign and the DNC? We'll need all the help we can get -- especially with Monday's deadline, which is a critical milestone in this election.
I'm so grateful for all that you do.
Joe
Joe Biden
P.S. According to my friends at the DNC, you haven't gotten the chance to split a contribution to my campaign since Kamala Harris entered this race as my choice for vice president. I can't say it enough, Pat: It's now or never when it comes to making the largest impact possible on the outcome of this election. If your budget allows, please split a $10 donation between my campaign and the Democratic Party before Monday at midnight. It'd mean so much.
