My opponent and Washington Republicans are celebrating this week as working families across North Carolina struggle to make ends meet.

For me, North Carolina has always been home, and I know that the people of my state value honesty, hard work, loyalty, and decency. The Republican National Convention, which opened in North Carolina earlier this week, has run counter to those values -- and I know we can do better for my state and for our country.
