I'm calling on you today, at the tail end of the Republican National Convention, to do everything in your power to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November.

Pat, I'm calling on you today, at the tail end of the Republican National Convention, to do everything in your power to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats running for office all over the country believe in the values of equality, justice, and basic human decency. If there is any hope of restoring the soul of this nation, as Joe Biden says, we need to step up as a party while there is still time left to make an impact on this race. The Democratic National Committee is the sole party organization tasked with supporting Democrats from the top of the ticket to the very bottom. From their nationwide digital organizing infrastructure to their top-notch data warehouse, the DNC provides critical resources to campaigns all over the country. It could not be more crucial for our party to operate at full capacity through Election Day, which is why I'm coming to you today. I've lived through the consequences of institutionalized bigotry and xenophobia. My family and I were imprisoned in two internment camps simply because of our Japanese ethnicity. And Pat, to watch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris -- not only the first Black woman, but the first Asian American, to join a major party's ticket -- accept the Democratic nomination demonstrates the progress this country is capable of achieving despite Trump's efforts to set us back. This country was established on the idea that all of us are created equal -- and though we've never quite lived up to this founding principle, Donald Trump is steering us dangerously far from that core ideal. I know our work is just beginning, but with Trump and his Republican allies in power, this nation cannot make any of the real changes we so desperately need. For the sake of our future, we need to take action and support Democrats running for office nationwide. Like Joe Biden often says, I truly believe that our best days lie ahead.
