Friends, it’s Pete Buttigieg. Tonight, Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the Republican National Convention. And that makes this a good day to send a message. Before he takes the stage, will you send a message and make one of the 290,000 grassroots donations Joe Biden’s campaign still needs this week to help defeat Pence and Trump?
As a Hoosier myself, born and raised here in Indiana, I’m no stranger to Vice President Pence’s divisive, anti-LGBTQ politics, and I’ve certainly never hesitated to stand up to his agenda of imposing an archaic worldview, stripping countless Americans--including me--of their rights.
Like I said early on in my own campaign for president last year, “I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand -- that if you’ve got a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me. Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator.”
I don’t expect him to come around. Yet, it is still jarring that a man rooted in faith and scripture would punch the clock every day for a boss whose conduct flies in the face of every notion, liberal and conservative, of basic morals or decency.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s Administration has been a festival of greed and corruption. You and I are the ones who can do something over the next 69 days to end their time in office and elect service-driven leaders in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Look, I know it’s a tough time to contribute, but Joe’s team has set an ambitious and necessary fundraising goal to collect 500,000 grassroots donations before the Republican National Convention ends. They’re just 290,000 donations away from reaching it, and I’m hoping we can make a big dent in that number before Pence speaks tonight.
So I’m asking you directly, will you dig deep and chip in $25 right now to defeat Mike Pence and Donald Trump this November? If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: | | They say every four years is the most important election of our lifetime, but this one is truly it.
Thank you for standing on the right side of history,
Pete Buttigieg |
