With all of the primaries happening this month, we're reaching a turning point in this cycle, Pat -- here are the latest updates coming out of last night's primaries:
  • Democratic women are headed to the general election in six out of seven Republican-held congressional districts in Virginia.
  • Democrats flipped our 43rd state legislative seat from red to blue since Trump took office in a Wisconsin district that hasn't elected a Democrat in more than four decades.
  • Republicans in Virginia nominated Corey Stewart for Senate, a former Trump campaign state chair with ties to white supremacists and an array of far-right extremist positions. Now it's up to Senator Tim Kaine to defeat him in the general.
  • Senator Heidi Heitkamp is now facing her GOP challenger for the general -- and defending her seat in North Dakota will be critical if Democrats are going to regain a majority in the Senate.
  • In Nevada, Jacky Rosen won her Senate primary. She now has a great chance to defeat vulnerable Republican Dean Heller and flip a Senate seat from red to blue.
Five states held their primaries yesterday -- and eight more had primaries the week before. By the end of this month, a total of 18 states will decide their Democratic nominees for 2018. Those candidates are shaping up to be the most diverse and dynamic slate our party has ever fielded -- but they won't win unless we have their backs from now until November.

You've supported Democrats in the past -- thank you, Pat. Can I count on you to make your first $10 contribution of 2018?

If we are going to flip key districts across the country this fall, we can't be shy about investing in our campaigns and state parties -- especially when there are so many Democratic candidates running incredible campaigns in places where our party wouldn't have competed in previous election cycles.

We have an impressive list of first-time candidates, women, and people of color running for office who are ready to organize and win. They are counting on our full support as they ramp up their organizing efforts this summer.

Last night's primaries mean that another round of Democratic candidates is preparing for the general -- that's why I'm asking you, Pat:

You've supported Democrats in the past -- thank you. Can I count on you to make your first $10 contribution of 2018?

Thanks for being part of this,

Amanda

P.S. Campaigns and state parties are counting on us to help them expand their organizing efforts this month. We can't wait until October to show our support -- so I'm asking: Make a contribution to elect Democrats in November.
