re: Obama's announcement (unity)

We are at a critical point in the race, Pat.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat, elections are not fought and won by a single candidate, supporter, or organization. Winning takes everyone -- from the presidential nominee to grassroots supporters -- working together in a coordinated effort.

It is for this very reason that President Barack Obama announced the Democratic Unity Fund. He understood that in order for Democrats to take back the White House, flip the Senate, and expand our House majority, our party would need a nationwide campaign infrastructure ready to mobilize as soon as the general election began.

Trump and Biden's polling numbers

This team's hard work has already begun to pay off, thanks in no small part to the generous, early commitment of grassroots supporters like you. Just this year, the DNC has made historic investments in online advertising and is fighting voter suppression in courts nationwide. But here's the thing: To build upon these successes, our party needs to be fully resourced through November. That is why I'm reaching out to you today, now that we're well into the last full fundraising quarter before Election Day.

Here's what the DNC has on file for you:

We only have one shot to get this right, and I would hate to look back at this moment in the race and see there was more we could have done. Pat, will you donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund today?

While I'm cautiously optimistic about our chances, the signs of Democratic success we're seeing today do not mean we are guaranteed a victory in November. We still have work to do.

As DNC Chair, I know that the strength of our party is directly tied to the strength of our grassroots. This is the cornerstone idea of the Democratic Unity Fund, and it is central to our winning strategy. That is why your support is so critical at this moment in the election.

'This work will not be easy, but working together is the only way we can achieve the progress that we're hoping for.' - Barack Obama

Pat, will you donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund so that our party is in the best position possible to take on Donald Trump and the GOP? Democrats up and down the ballot are counting on the DNC for critical campaign resources, and we're relying on supporters like you to step up today.

In unity,

Tom

P.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Democrats nationwide are rapidly scaling up their operations now that we are only four months away from Election Day. The Democratic Unity Fund was created to ensure they have everything they need to deliver on their plans, so if you can, please donate $7 so that Democrats have a fighting chance this November.
