re: Obama’s announcement (unity)

We need to bring our best to the table, and that means being prepared for anything that may come our way.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat, one of the last FEC deadlines of the general election is in only two days, so I'm coming to you today to ask you to be one of 124 more donors from Carrollton to donate your first ever $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund before Friday at midnight. Here's why:

Our July end-of-month deadline is July 31 at midnight.

With only 97 days left in the race, we're closing in on our final opportunity to bring on staff, lay out our plans for key battleground states, and solidify our organizing strategy to get out the vote. The money we have on hand after we close the books on July will play a major role in determining our final investments for this final phase of the race, so it's crucial that we stay on target to reach this month's goal -- if not exceed it.

That is why your support of the Democratic Unity Fund could not come at a more critical time. President Obama announced the fund last year because he understood that in order for our party to emerge victorious in November, we'd need to build a nationwide infrastructure that is strong enough to support all Democrats, at every level. Thanks in no small part to Democrats like you, we've built robust programs that are propelling our candidates forward. But unless we can keep funding the work at this level, I worry all of the painstaking effort we've put into building this infrastructure could end up being for nothing.

We need more Democratic Unity Fund donors from your city.

According to our records, if 124 more donors from Carrollton make a contribution to the Democratic Unity Fund today, we'll be on track to meet our July FEC fundraising goal. Pat, will you step up and make a $7 donation to the DNC before Friday to help sustain our momentum?

The Democratic Unity Fund is a key piece to our winning 2020 strategy, Pat. It supports critical initiatives that Democrats nationwide are depending on -- but the time we have to fully support the fund slips away from us with each passing day.

In these last few months before Election Day, the DNC will be focusing on where we can make last minute investments to scale up our operation. Donations made ahead of Friday's deadline will inform whether or not we can launch new digital advertisements, hire more organizers, or make inroads in certain battleground states. There is too much at stake in this election to play it safe, and the more resources we have headed into the fall, the better equipped Democrats will be to handle attacks from the GOP.

So, Pat, will you be one of 124 more people from Carrollton to donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund before Friday's end-of-month deadline?

Thank you for supporting Democrats,

Jessalyn

P.S. The Republican Party knows that whatever the outcome may be in November, it's going to be a close call. We can only expect them to launch more full-on attacks on Joe Biden and Democrats as we get closer to Election Day, which is why it's so important that the DNC is ready to respond to Donald Trump and the GOP at a moment's notice. Please, donate $7 to the Democratic Unity Fund before Friday's deadline so that our party can bring its best to the table.
