Please, Pat: Give me a chance to explain

Our fight to beat Donald Trump and Republicans is going to be expensive.
DemocratsJoin us.

Pat, I could ask for your vote all day long, but asking for your donation is really one of the hardest things when it comes to running for office. Especially during a time like this.

So, I'm asking you for the chance to explain what your first $10 means to the campaign, and then if you're able, I hope you'll decide to pitch in to my campaign and the DNC.

Our fight to beat Donald Trump and Republicans is going to be expensive. We're making a pitch for every vote across the country, and that includes some states where it costs a lot of money to get our message out in front of folks.

And we're up against Donald Trump and the Republicans' enormous fundraising machine -- and a war chest with over $290 million in it.

But Pat, I'm not intimidated by how much money they have, because I know that, thanks to folks like you, we've got a fighting chance here. This grassroots team has already done so much to help my campaign and Democrats running for competitive offices down the ballot -- that's incredible, Pat, and I'm so deeply grateful.

A donation of a few bucks at a time may not seem like a lot on its own, but believe me when I tell you that this campaign will be won by a lot of people pitching in whatever they can -- oftentimes through emails just like this one. That's why your first donation directly to my campaign and the DNC couldn't come at a more critical time.

So, if you're able to contribute anything to my campaign and the DNC -- whether it's $7, $10, or more than that -- will you donate today? If every person who receives this email chips in what they can, we'll be on track to send Trump and the RNC a message that people power beats them and their wealthy donor networks any day of the week.

I'm so grateful for your support, Pat. Thanks for everything you do.

P.S. The team at the DNC tells me that you have yet to contribute directly to my campaign for president. I know not everyone can afford to chip in right now, but if you could, it'd mean a whole lot. Please split your first $10 donation between my campaign and the DNC.
