Pat -- I was elected to Congress on the same day Donald Trump was elected president. I didn't quite know what to expect from our new president and his party -- but I knew whatever they were going to do, it was going to be bad. Unfortunately, I was right about that part. I can tell you that what the Trump administration and this Republican Congress are doing is even more destructive and harmful to our country and democracy than the news makes it look. There are several ways to fight back against the many different outrages of the Trump administration, but there's one way to fight back against all of them at once: put Democrats in the majority so we can take on this administration every single day. The DNC faces an important fundraising deadline Thursday -- so now is the time to make your first donation of 2018. Contribute $10 now: Who we elect to office this year will decide whether we make progress on the issues impacting millions of Americans today -- and by supporting candidates of all backgrounds, we'll ensure that our communities are truly represented at all levels of government. I'm proud to see the record number of women and people of color who are running for office this year. The DNC is working hard to elect these diverse voices so our country's representation can be a true reflection of its people and their values. Democrats know that every vote in every election counts -- and to win this November, we must knock on doors, mobilize, and organize in every community. That's just what the DNC is doing with the IWillVote campaign, planning to reach 50 million Americans across the country by Election Day. You and I need to help them hit that ambitious goal. The DNC is up against a big fundraising deadline and I'm counting on you to support the party's efforts to get out the vote. If you're committed to making sure that every voice counts, donate $10 for the first time in 2018 today. Thank you for taking action, Pramila Jayapal U.S. Representative, WA-07 P.S. If you're sick and tired of what's happening in this administration, I've got an answer for you: elect more Democrats. Before Thursday's deadline, contribute $10 to support Democrats running in competitive races nationwide. |
