Yesterday the Trump administration proposed a new rule to block millions of women from accessing critical reproductive health care. I would like to take a moment to tell you why this move is so disturbing, and then ask you to take action to oppose it. There's a program called Title X that provides 4 million Americans with affordable birth control and reproductive health care. Under Trump's proposal, these patients would no longer be able to go to health care providers -- like Planned Parenthood -- that offer abortion services or referrals for needed care. This is a brazen and shameful assault on women, our rights, and our health. By undermining Title X, Trump is threatening the health of millions of women across the country and their families -- and right now I am counting on you to speak out against this outrageous policy. Add your name to say you oppose Trump's proposal to block women's access to reproductive health care by restricting Title X. This new rule not only takes health care away from women -- it also prohibits doctors and nurses from referring their patients for safe and legal abortion. It even allows doctors to withhold information from women about their own medical options. Make no mistake: This proposed rule is just the latest attack from the Trump administration on quality, affordable health care. We should be expanding access to preventative care, cancer screenings, STD testing, birth control, and family planning services including abortion. Instead, Donald Trump and Mike Pence are once again turning back the clock on women's reproductive freedom by telling women what we can and can't do with our bodies. The Democratic Party believes that women have the right to make our own reproductive health decisions -- and we will fight tooth and nail to protect a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. Donald Trump's proposal to upend Title X and jeopardize women's reproductive health care is a complete disgrace. Add your name if you agree. Thank you for taking a stand today.
