Pat, as someone who made a generous donation to the DNC in 2016, you're an integral member of the Democratic Party. That's why I wanted to share an important aspect of our party's strategy for taking back the White House and winning seats up and down the ballot in 2020 directly with you. If we're going to have any shot at winning the presidency next year, Democrats need to keep Donald Trump's poll numbers as low as possible. If we continue holding him accountable, expose his administration's culture of corruption, and keep his approval ratings low, we'll have a good chance at taking back the White House. Here's a look at where his approval numbers have been in May: This is the reality we face, Pat: This race will be closer than many are anticipating, and we can't take anything for granted. Trump's campaign, with the help of the RNC, has already outraised every Democratic presidential hopeful by a long shot, and he's been campaigning since the day he was inaugurated. That's why the DNC is working tirelessly to make the early, strategic investments it will take to cut Trump and the RNC's lead. It's why we're building a rock-solid party infrastructure for our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats nationwide to inherit in the general election. And it's why we need your help to close the gap now, while we still can. Grassroots contributions to the DNC's One-Term President Fund are already powering some of the most exciting and groundbreaking projects the Democratic Party has ever undertaken. Since you're an important member of our party, I hope you'll give me a minute to share more about what exactly the DNC is doing to win in 2020. THE DNC WAR ROOMThe DNC War Room is a battleground states-focused research and rapid response unit made up of dozens of research, communications, and mobilization experts entirely dedicated to kicking Trump out of the Oval Office in 2020. The DNC War Room is a hub for state parties, candidates, and activists that lifts up the stories of the real people most devastated by Trump's disgraceful policies.Since re-launching our newly revamped DNC War Room earlier this year, we've been able to more than double our social media following, enabling our party to share key messages with more Democrats than ever before. This is already helping us amplify powerful opposition content online, especially in big moments like the release of the Mueller report. ORGANIZING CORPS 2020In just a month, Organizing Corps 2020 will start training the next generation of young community organizers who will work on the 2020 election cycle. These trainings will take place in Atlanta, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Phoenix, Philadelphia, and Tampa -- all cities in key battleground states. Our eventual nominee will rely on this program to build a world-class field team to organize and win in 2020, so this program couldn't be more important to the future of our country and our party.TECH AND DATA IMPROVEMENTSImproving Democratic tech and data has been one of the DNC's top priorities since 2017, which is why our party has brought in top tech talent, invested heavily in cybersecurity, and begun rebuilding our data infrastructure to give all our candidates best-in-class tools. The Data Warehouse is the centerpiece of the Democratic Party's massive effort to overhaul what was once a crumbling data infrastructure. The Warehouse is improving access to voter data and unifying our efforts across the entire progressive ecosystem, putting our candidates in the best position possible to target voters and win elections up and down the ballot.Thank you for taking this time out of your day to read more about what the DNC is doing to defeat Trump and the GOP next year. I believe wholeheartedly that if this incredible grassroots team comes together early on to build the strong party infrastructure it'll take to lift our eventual Democratic nominee to victory, we can win this thing. We cannot wait until 2020 to invest in the organizing, tech, data, and staff required to defeat Trump and his Republican allies. The 2020 election will be the fight of our lifetimes, and the DNC is the sole party committee tasked with electing a Democratic president in 2020. Your early support for our party will give our nominees the best possible chance of defeating Trump and his Republican allies. That is why I'm asking: Will you make a $3 donation to the DNC's One-Term President Fund? Every dollar will help build the essential party infrastructure required to beat Donald Trump and Republicans by electing Democrats up and down the ballot. Thank you for being a part of this and investing in Democrats. Tom Tom Perez Chair Democratic National Committee P.S. When we look at Trump's poll numbers right now, we can see what we're up against. This race will be an uphill battle, and the only way we will win in 2020 is by putting in the work right now, while it's still early. Chip in $3 right now to support the DNC in our fight to elect Democrats from the local school board to the Oval Office in 2020. |
