I know firsthand that when Democrats have the resources to talk to voters about important issues and commonsense solutions, we can compete anywhere -- even in a "deep red" state like Montana.

Pat -- I'd like to take a moment to say why early investments in campaigns are often the deciding factor in the outcome on Election Day. Our path to victory was not easy. Trump visited Montana four times and won here by 20 points in 2016. Montana was a top target for the GOP -- yet we overcame the odds and fought back to defend this seat. What made victory possible not only in my race but in races across the country was early and critical investments made in state parties and campaigns. Those investments allowed our campaign to fund and train hundreds of diverse organizers and staff to engage communities in Montana that make up our Democratic base -- and allowed us to get a huge head start on our opponent. If we invest early for this coming cycle, we can create lasting party infrastructure to secure even more victories -- because I guarantee there will be plenty of races in the years to come that will come down to a handful of votes, and what we do now will determine those wins and losses.
