Hi, Pat, I'm Lauren Underwood, and I was recently elected to represent Illinois' 14th Congressional District. If the past couple of weeks have shown us anything, it's that a Democratic House is desperately needed to put a check on this president and his unhinged administration. I'm ready to hit the ground running and get to work, but I can't do it all on my own -- we can't win the tough fights ahead unless grassroots supporters like you are involved. As long as Trump still occupies the Oval Office and the Republican Party enables his destructive agenda, we will have our work cut out for us. So I have to ask: Tomorrow at midnight, the Democratic Party faces its end-of-year fundraising deadline. Will you make a $3 donation to stand with Democrats in the fights ahead? I decided to run for office when my Republican congressman voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. As his constituent, a registered nurse, and someone with a pre-existing condition, I knew we needed better representation in Washington. When the 116th Congress convenes in just a few days, I am looking forward to working with my fellow members to restore commonsense solutions and integrity to our government. That means coming together to make affordable health care a right for us all -- not a privilege for the few; creating an economy that works for everyone -- not just those at the top; and putting a real check on an administration that has gone off the rails. This cycle, we worked together to revitalize our party, electing the most diverse slate of candidates in history -- and now we must take on some of the biggest challenges our country has seen in decades. Tomorrow at midnight, the Democratic Party faces the last fundraising deadline of 2018. Every contribution made before then is not only a direct investment in our party's future -- it will also give Democrats the resources they need to start the new year off strong. I am asking you, Pat: Will you make a $3 contribution before tomorrow's end-of-year fundraising deadline? Your donation will help build out the infrastructure needed to continue electing Democrats in 2019, 2020, and beyond. Thank you for stepping up today, Lauren Lauren Underwood U.S. Representative-elect, IL-14 P.S. The degree to which the DNC is able to invest in the tools, technology, and organizing infrastructure needed to win critical races in 2019 and the White House in 2020 will depend on what our party is able to raise before tomorrow at midnight. Donate $3 before tomorrow's end-of-year deadline to stand with Democrats nationwide. |
