We cannot sit back while Republicans make last-minute power grabs like this in Wisconsin and across the country.

Pat, if we're going to have free and fair elections in this country, we need a strong Democratic Party capable of taking on Republicans who are nothing but out of step with the voters. Look no further than my home state of Wisconsin to see why we have our work cut out for us. In his final weeks holding office, defeated Republican Governor Scott Walker signed bills into law that would strip incoming Democratic Governor-elect Tony Evers and Attorney General-elect Josh Kaul of their executive power and limit Democratic influence on future laws -- all because the Wisconsin GOP didn't win on Election Day. We cannot sit back while Republicans make last-minute power grabs like this in Wisconsin and across the country, which is why I am asking you: Will you make a $3 donation before tomorrow's end-of-year deadline to fight back against the GOP's abuse of power and to stand with Democrats who will advance our values? But Wisconsin isn't the only place this is happening -- just two years ago, North Carolina set the precedent when the GOP-controlled state legislature chiseled power away from the incoming Democratic governor. Michigan followed suit this year, making it evident some Republicans care more about clinging to power than listening to the voters. What we do together before tomorrow's end-of-year fundraising deadline will determine if we're able to continue electing Democrats who will defend our democracy and put a real check on Republicans who blatantly ignore the will of the voters.
