 As a former chair of the DNC, I believe this year's midterms are the most important of our lifetimes. Here's why: When I became chair, our party had just endured a devastating loss in the 2004 election. We took a hard look at what went wrong and made a revolutionary decision to invest in all 50 states -- a decision that allowed us to make a huge comeback. We went on to take back the House and the Senate in 2006 and then the White House in 2008 with the election of Barack Obama. The nightly news and Democratic strategists will tell you that this year we could rack up as many victories as we did in 2006, Pat. What they won't tell you is that if we lose these critical races, the future of our democracy could be in jeopardy. Over the next 46 days, we must put in the work to elect Democrats in every state who will fight for our values at all levels of government. Our party has the chance to make a huge comeback in November, but only if we work together -- starting right now. You donated in 2016, but not yet this cycle. Will you make your first $3 contribution of 2018 to help elect Democrats nationwide? The DNC's investments this year are making it possible for Democrats to have another comeback, Pat. Grassroots donors have helped fund Every ZIP Code Counts -- a program that sets state parties and campaigns up for success by investing $10,000 a month in every state party in the nation. That is the type of investment we need to make to ensure we elect thousands of Democrats across the country this November. We have 46 days to get it done. From now until Election Day, we need to call as many voters, knock on as many doors, and talk with as many of our friends and family as we can about the importance of this election. The fate of our country is at stake this November and mobilizing a record number of Democrats this year is the best way to protect our values and our democracy. Together we have the ability to determine the outcome of this year's midterms -- but this blue wave won't happen unless we organize like never before.
