Who does the Senate GOP work for?

We're not waiting for 2018 to roll around
DemocratsJoin us.
We're getting ready to take back our Senate majority right now. Pitch in $10 or more today if you're with us:

Friend --

Before the Senate voted to confirm Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn posted on Facebook that he was going to vote "yes." And under that post were thousands of comments from his constituents begging him to vote "no" because of how much her confirmation would threaten their children's education.

As I watched the DeVos vote play out on the Senate floor, and Cornyn and the rest of the GOP cast their "yes" votes, I couldn't help but wonder whether these Republicans would have the courage to face the people they represent.

Over the past few weeks, Senate Republicans appear to have forgotten that they work for their constituents -- not Donald Trump. They've been a lazy rubber stamp for Trump's cartoon villain cast of cabinet nominees, despite the outcry from their constituents. I have to imagine they'll do the same for Donald Trump's agenda if we don't stop them.

So we need to hold these Republican Senators accountable -- and make sure they pay a price at the polls.

In 2018, Republican Senators like Jeff Flake in Arizona and Dean Heller in Nevada are going to be up for re-election -- and we need to replace them with Democrats who will actually listen to the people they serve. Pitch in $10 now to help us elect Democrats so we can take back our Senate majority -- we can't wait another year to get started.
