It's time to investigate Trump's ties to Russia (add your name)

This is bigger than Watergate

Congress must launch an independent investigation into Donald Trump's ties to Russia. Add your name if you agree.

Friend --

For the past four decades, Watergate was the standard which all other political scandals were judged by. From now on, they'll be measured up against Donald Trump's Russia scandal.

We now know that multiple senior Trump campaign officials were in constant contact with Russian intelligence throughout the presidential campaign, all while Russia was interfering in our election to help Trump win.

Donald Trump and Mike Pence have both claimed that their campaign was never communicating with Russia. We now know they lied.

This scandal is like a rotten onion -- each new layer we peel back, the stench gets ten times worse. Congress must launch an independent investigation into Trump's ties to Russia. If you agree, add your name.

When Donald Trump publicly asked the Russian government to hack the State Department and release Hillary Clinton's emails, his top aides were in contact with Russia.

And while the Russian government was engaged in a cyber-espionage campaign against the Democratic Party, they were communicating with the Trump campaign.

Imagine what they might have been talking about.

These actions raise some serious and troubling questions about how Donald Trump's campaign undermined our government and our national security. The only way to answer them is with an independent, transparent investigation into Donald Trump's involvement in this Russian attack on our democracy.

This shouldn't be a partisan issue. But sadly, Republicans are engaged in their most galling act of political cowardice yet.

When more than a thousand Utahns went to Rep. Jason Chaffetz's town hall meeting and asked their congressman to exercise his oversight authority over Trump, Chaffetz dismissed them as paid protestors.

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who was also a member of Trump's transition team while some of these conversations with Russian intelligence were happening, announced that he would not investigate Michael Flynn's contact with Russia. But he will investigate how the information leaked that got Flynn caught.

Paul Ryan doesn't want an investigation because he doesn't want to "prejudge any of the circumstances surrounding this until we have all of the information." What is that word for gathering information, Mr. Speaker? Oh right, "investigate."

And Sen. Rand Paul came out and said what most of the GOP was already thinking: that it doesn't make sense for Republicans to investigate Republicans because it will distract them from their main legislative priorities, like repealing Obamacare, gutting Social Security and Medicare, and passing tax cuts for the wealthy.

The GOP cannot simply wave away what is already one of the biggest scandals in American history -- especially since we still don't know where it ends.

Join the 103,170 supporters who have already demanded action, and call on Republicans in Congress to launch an independent investigation into Trump and Russia. The future of our democracy depends on it:
