We want to hear about your experience contacting your members of Congress or attending your local town hall meeting. Friend -- Elected representatives serve all of their constituents, not just their base. And the way that Republicans have been treating their own constituents lately is downright disgraceful. Over the past few weeks, we've seen something amazing in this country. We've seen people in all 50 states and in Washington, D.C. taking to the streets, picking up their phones, and otherwise raising hell to make sure Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress know we're not going away and they're going to be held accountable. And then you have Kellyanne Conway shrug all that off -- saying she's more worried about her own "Real Person Impact" meter than the concerns of the thousands of people jamming the Capitol's phone lines to express their concern. Because apparently those concerned citizens aren't "real people." Or hear Rep. Jason Chaffetz suggest that the massive crowds that showed up to his town hall last week were paid protestors -- rather than his own Utah constituents who want their voices to be heard. These folks work for you. And if they're not listening, they're not doing their jobs. So if you're one of the millions of Americans who has reached out to your representatives, whether it was making a call to their office or showing up at a town hall event, I want to hear your story. Because I want to make one thing perfectly clear to Republicans -- these are real people. And these real people are going to help vote them out of office: Thanks for speaking out. You're making a real difference, and I'm so proud to have you on this team. Donna Donna Brazile Chair Democratic National Committee |
