Pat, I just voted no on Amy Coney Barrett's nomination. I voted no today because I refuse to be a party to Mitch McConnell's power grab, the hyper-politicization of the Senate and the courts, and denying the American people a voice in this process while voting for the next president is already underway.
It was the right decision, but you and I both know I'm going to be attacked for it. I need your help to fight back. McConnell and Tuberville are already launching ads to attack me for voting no on their hypocrisy.
Will you rush a $10 donation right now to my campaign and the DNC? Together, we can win this race and tough races across the country -- and expand the map for Democrats everywhere.
When I got elected in 2017, the pundits thought I'd do whatever I needed to do to win reelection this year. But that's never what I've done, Pat. I've always done what I thought was right.
Standing up to this cynical, hypocritical nomination process is the right thing to do. I need your help to make sure I can keep doing the right thing in the Senate -- and fight back against the avalanche of McConnell's ads on the airwaves.
Donate $10, or whatever you can afford, to my campaign and the DNC to help me win this race and help expand the map everywhere. Winning is going to take all of us, so I'm asking you to dig deep, if you can, to ensure we can fight with everything we have in these final days.
Thank you for sticking with me in this. I truly couldn't do it without you.
Doug

U.S. Senator, Alabama
P.S. My opponent has shown his only values are doing what Donald Trump wants. Alabamians and the American people deserve better, Pat, so I'm asking you to split $10 between my campaign and the DNC today so we can make that a reality by winning this race and expanding the map for our party up and down the ballot.
