I've got some exciting news to share with you this morning, Pat: Thanks to the 51,492 generous donors on this team who chipped in last month, October was officially the DNC's best month for online fundraising of the 2020 election cycle. That's significant for a couple reasons, and I hope you'll give me a moment to share why. First: Together, we were able to not only reach, but exceed our October fundraising goal. This means that critical 2020 investments the DNC is making -- from putting organizers on the ground in must-win battleground states to building an ironclad data and tech infrastructure -- can remain fully funded and continue to fortify our future nominee's path to 270. Second: We hit this goal because of the incredible strength of this grassroots team. Folks from every nook and cranny of this country donated whatever they could afford, and whether they gave $100 or $1, every contribution made a difference. I'm proud of the work this team put in this month to hit our goal, but I'm even prouder of how we did it: Together. Continuing to hit important fundraising benchmarks like the one we faced yesterday is the only way we'll stay in the best possible position to build a Democratic Party strong enough to defeat Donald Trump and his allies. Our opponents are rapidly assembling their 2020 operation, and you can bet they're better prepared and a hell of a lot more organized than they were the first time around. We can't take a second for granted in our fight to elect Democrats from the state house to the White House -- and truth be told, even though we hit our October fundraising goal, we must keep our foot on the gas if we want to stand a chance against the RNC's machine. There are 368 days until the weekend, Pat. I say that because we've got to be fighting, investing, and organizing every single day until then. Because in 368 days, we will be faced with one of two realities: We will either have just elected Democrats to our nation's highest office and seats all across our country, or we'll have allowed Trump and Republicans to maintain their stranglehold on our democracy. I know I don't have to explain the stakes in this race and the uphill battle we are facing. That is why I hope you will allow me to ask you once more: I know we can win this thing if we work together, and I'm fired up to be in this fight with you. I'm so proud to have you on this team. Tom Tom Perez P.S. Over the course of this past month, you heard from Barack Obama, Howard Dean, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Congresswoman Katie Porter, Terry McAuliffe, and me -- and that's just to name a few! However, our records indicate that you didn't get a chance to donate in October. It's not too late, Pat. Please make a $3 donation to our party today to help build the strong DNC it will take to win the Oval Office and critical seats down the ticket.
