When my team and I reviewed our plans for 2020 and our party's budget, one thing stood out clear as day.

Pat, August can be a notoriously slow time for fundraising. That's been true for the DNC in years past. But as my team and I reviewed our plans for 2020 and our party's budget, one thing stood out clear as day: We will not defeat Donald Trump and his Republican enablers by lowering this month's fundraising goal or taking the month of August off. There can be no more "off years" if we want to have any shot at electing a Democratic president and winning nationwide next year. We can't build a party infrastructure that'll be strong enough to compete with Trump and Republicans unless we put in the work now, while we still have time to meaningfully invest in the programs we need to win. That requires each and every one of us on this grassroots team to pitch in what we can to hit this month's critical fundraising goal before Saturday at midnight. That's why the DNC is making unprecedented investments in the programs our eventual nominee and Democrats down the ballot will need to fight and win. Please give me a moment to explain the details of these programs, and how you can help invest in each of them: THE DATA WAREHOUSE The DNC's data infrastructure was crumbling in the wake of the 2016 election, and overhauling Democratic tech and data has been one of my highest priorities as DNC chair. Since early 2017, we've brought in top-of-the-line tech talent, invested heavily in cybersecurity, and already begun rebuilding our data infrastructure to give all our candidates best-in-class tools. The Data Warehouse is the centerpiece of the Democratic Party's data initiatives this year. It's designed to put Democrats in the best position possible to target voters and win, but we can't help campaigns use it to its full potential without enough support. ORGANIZING EARLY IN BATTLEGROUND STATES Investing in organizing has to happen now, while it's still early in the race, in order to block Trump from finding a path to 270. That's why the DNC has taken drastic steps to recruit and train the next generation of local organizers to engage their communities starting this summer -- our inaugural summer training just wrapped up! By building meaningful relationships in the communities we know we'll need to win in 2020, the DNC is doing everything we can to equip our eventual presidential nominee and Democrats nationwide with a world-class ground game. Your support before this deadline helps make early organizing possible. THE DNC WAR ROOM The DNC War Room is our party's battleground states-focused research and rapid response unit, and it's comprised of dozens of research, communications, and mobilization experts entirely dedicated to kicking Trump out of the Oval Office. Recently, during Robert Mueller's testimony before Congress, the War Room was hard at work amplifying key messages online while fact-checking and cutting down the Trump team's disinformation and spin in real time. By continuing to hold Trump and his cronies accountable, we'll be able to help keep his poll numbers low and make sure he stays a one-term president.
