A humble request, Pat

Rather than building an economy and health care system that works for everyone, Donald Trump spends his time lashing out, attacking various American cities and elected officials like me.

DemocratsJoin us.

Rather than building an economy and health care system that works for everyone, Donald Trump spends his time lashing out, attacking American cities like Baltimore and elected officials like me.

I refuse to waste time responding to every one of his hate-filled tweets or derogatory comments. Instead, House Democrats and I are hard at work passing legislation addressing issues Americans want fixed, like making our communities safer and bringing down drug prices. But right now, these important bills are collecting dust on Mitch McConnell's desk, as he gets in the way of the progress our country is calling out for. That's where you come in, Pat.

This election cycle, we have an incredible opportunity to maintain our House majority, flip the Senate, put a Democrat back in the White House, and pass laws that improve the lives of working families -- but first, the Democratic Party needs to reach its important end-of-month goal on Saturday. It's going to take all of us working together to get this done, which is why I'm personally asking you today:

Will you donate $3 to the Democratic Party before Saturday's deadline to help Democrats win? Democratic candidates running in every corner of our country are counting on a strong DNC to help them fight and win.

Elections have transformed in a lot of ways since I started out in politics decades ago, but a few things still hold constant: Candidates need highly trained campaign staff, up-to-date voter information, and consistent financial support to plan effectively and win.

Another constant in my years in Congress has been the DNC -- and right now, the DNC is building a strong infrastructure that will propel not only the eventual presidential nominee, but also candidates down the ballot to office in 2020. It's the only party committee capable of providing this much-needed support to candidates nationwide, whether they're running for a seat on their local school board or for the Oval Office.

The stakes grow higher every day, Pat. It's on all of us to pitch in what we can, when we can, to keep our country and our democracy intact for the next generation.

Donate $3 before Saturday's midnight deadline and make the strong investment that Democrats running for office at every level need to have the resources to win.

Thank you for standing alongside me in this fight. It'll take all of us fighting together to take our country back.

Elijah
