I'm facing one of the toughest re-election fights of any Democratic senator this year, and right now I am counting on you to support my campaign. Republicans have marked Florida as one of their top targets this year -- and if Democrats are going to take back the Senate, it will be in part because we successfully defended this Senate seat. So I need to ask: You've contributed to support Democrats in the past. Will you chip in $10 again today to defend my Senate seat and elect other Democrats nationwide this year? My opponent, two-term governor Rick Scott, has already spent $14 million -- of his own money -- trying to defeat me. He thinks he can put a price tag on my Senate seat so he can go to Washington and be another rubber stamp for the GOP's dangerous agenda. As governor, Rick Scott has refused to expand Medicaid, doled out tax cuts to corporations, slashed environmental regulations, and even ignores the reality of climate change. Not to mention, he endorsed Donald Trump and headed a super PAC to help him win in 2016. We must keep Rick Scott as far away from the Senate as possible, Pat. Americans deserve a Senate that will fight for affordable health care, help every student reach for the stars, protect our environment, and help create jobs that give every working family a better future.
