This is alarming

Friend --

I had the privilege to work for Barack Obama for a long time, so I can tell you with certainty that when this President stakes out a position on an issue, it's because he believes it's the best direction to take our country in. That's true whether we're talking about rescuing the auto industry or pushing for historic health care reform. This President doesn't do political expediency or gamesmanship.

Frankly, I don't think you can say the same about Republicans in Congress or any one of their candidates for president.

More than any other reason, this is why we must keep control of the White House and elect more Democrats to the House and Senate next year. Can you pitch in $10 or more before our deadline on Wednesday to support our candidates?

The modern Republican Party is singularly focused on one thing: Repealing a law that has helped more than 17 million people get health coverage. And when they're not doing that, they're threatening government shutdowns -- sometimes actually going through with them -- and filing lawsuits against President Obama.

No matter what happens in the next 48 hours, it couldn't be more obvious that these Republicans are not responsible enough to govern our country. They shouldn't hold the majorities they have in Congress, let alone control the White House.

So let's beat them like President Obama did in 2008 and 2012.

Chip in $10 or more before midnight on Wednesday:
