Hi, Pat. This month, we've started sharing the DNC's strategic priorities with the 2020 Democratic presidential campaigns. With our fundraising still running behind -- and our deadline just two days away -- I wanted to share with key supporters like you the strategy that's on the line for our eventual nominee and Democrats everywhere. Please, give me a moment to explain the toplines of our 2020 strategy, and then make a $3 donation to invest in Democrats before Thursday's fundraising deadline.
The DNC is the only official party committee responsible for electing Democrats both to the Oval Office and down the ballot. Whether a candidate is running for city council or for president, they can tap into official DNC tools and resources rather than starting from scratch. Right now, we are laser focused on ensuring that our future presidential nominee has the resources that he or she will need to win in 2020. Our strategy boils down to four pillars: BATTLEGROUND ORGANIZING AND VOTER PROTECTION INFRASTRUCTUREThe DNC is recruiting, training, and maintaining an army of organizers, volunteers, and staffers across key battleground states. In 2019 alone, we have already trained over 12,000 people who will be ready to hit the ground running for our eventual nominee and races down the ballot. Meanwhile, our Voter Protection team is working with staff in battleground states, on the ground earlier than ever before, making sure that we are recruiting the volunteers we will need to protect the vote, educating voters on new voting laws, advocating for expansive early voting, and identifying potential problems with voting to prevent them on Election Day. TECHNOLOGY, DATA, AND CYBERSECURITYToday's political landscape requires best-in-class technological infrastructure and rock-solid cybersecurity. Just take a look: Not only can campaigns use official DNC tools like the new Data Warehouse to improve voter outreach, but they can also count on our tech team for continuous support and training through 2020. And we continue to expand our cybersecurity and misinformation program to harden our security posture, train and improve the security posture of our larger Democratic ecosystem, and stop the spread of lies and misinformation against our candidates. RESEARCH AGENDA, BATTLEGROUND PLANNING, AND DNC WAR ROOMOur research department is holding Trump accountable in battleground states, showing how Trump's policies harm Americans and sharing those stories with local media, partner organizations, and state parties. By monitoring Trump and his surrogates 24/7, we're able to respond and expose their lies as quickly as Trump tweets with initiatives like the DNC War Room: UNIFY OUR PARTY IN THE GENERAL ELECTIONWinning the White House will take a strong Democratic Party and a unified front in 2020. We have transformed our primary process to be as inclusive, transparent, and fair as possible so that our party can stand as one against Trump in the general election. The four pillars of our strategy and your generous support will drive Democrats to success in 2020. Candidates at every level will need our technology, research, and infrastructure to scale up their campaigns and win. We can't fund these tools at full capacity if we don't make this month's fundraising goal, and we're currently at risk of falling short. That's why I'm asking you to do something important today: Yours in the fight, Seema Seema Nanda |
