The Democratic Party hasn't always done enough to engage or empower young voters, Pat. As the president of College Democrats of America, I can tell you that's changing. The DNC is making an unprecedented effort to build new tools and tech to reach young voters where they are whether that's a college campus or on social media. They're also creating long-term infrastructure with organizations like ours so young voters support Democrats over the long haul. It's working so far -- millions of people my age plan to vote this year. But we need your help if Democrats are going to win in all 50 states. College Democrats is partnering with the DNC to reach out to 50 million voters and help get them to the polls. Add your name right now to say you will commit to vote this fall. The Democratic Party has a huge opportunity with young voters this fall. Many of us, including me, weren't old enough to vote for President Obama, and we're fired up to have a chance to shape the future of our country. Young people are already helping flip seats from red to blue. Nearly 60 percent of young Alabamians voted for Doug Jones -- and Ralph Northam won 72 percent of votes near Virginia college campuses. We have to keep it up. I hope that our voices and our stories will continue to inspire others to get involved in our democracy and turn out to vote this year -- including you, Pat. Add your name today to say you are committed to voting this fall. Thanks, Joseline Joseline Mata President, College Democrats of America University of Arizona '18 |
