Last Tuesday was a good day for democracy -- and a good day for America.
While we don't know all of the results yet, here's what we do know: We lost fewer seats in the House than in any Democratic president's first midterm election in at least 40 years.
This victory is yours -- so let me start out by saying: Thank you. We wouldn't be here without the support of this grassroots team.
When I came to office, we inherited a nation with a pandemic raging and an economy reeling. We acted quickly and boldly. With you by our side, we've vaccinated millions of people, created stable and sustained growth in our economy, and made long-term investments to rebuild America itself. Our economic policies created a record 10 million new jobs since I came into office. Unemployment rate is down from 6.4 percent when I was sworn in to 3.7 percent.
And we're just getting started.
No matter what happens in the coming days and weeks, know this: I have never been more optimistic about America's future than I am today. After a long campaign season, I still believe what I always have. This is a great nation and we are a great people. There is nothing we can't do if we do it together.
It goes without saying, our party is relying on you to continue building on our progress, and donations of $25 help keep our party running each and every day.
If you're with me, please consider making a $25 donation to the DNC today to continue the critical work to build a better America.
Thank you for all that you do, and all that you'll continue doing.
Joe
Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
President of the United States
