Tonight, Donald Trump announced he's running again. I'm going to let you in on a secret: He will fail. In a moment, I'm going to tell you why, but people like you stepping up will be a big part of how it's done.
Over the last few years, our democracy was put to the test. In the midterm elections, the American people voted to uphold our democracy.
That fight isn't over.
This team defeated Donald Trump just over two years ago. It wasn't a fluke. Trump pitted neighbors against neighbors. He rigged the economy for the rich. He left behind a mess. But a dedicated base of millions of grassroots supporters just like you came together to donate, volunteer, and vote in record numbers, and together, we defeated him.
This year, you buckled down and got back to work to beat Trumpism at the ballot box. Just one week ago, you proved that together, we can defeat the extremism, divisiveness, and corruption that he and his party represent. Thanks to you, we protected the Senate and lost fewer seats in the House this year than in any Democratic president's first elected midterm in the last 40 years.
And if you step up now, our party will defeat MAGA Republicans again in 2024.

But, in the meantime, I'll leave it at this: Grassroots supporters are the reason Donald Trump was defeated. You're the reason Kamala and I are here. And your support of the Democratic Party is going to be the reason he will never be president again.

Think of where we were two years ago. Millions of people were out of work. COVID was running rampant. The country seemed to be coming apart at the seams.
But you kept the faith. You believed, like I did, that we were in a battle for the soul of this nation. That we needed to rebuild the backbone of this country: the middle class. That we needed to put unity over division. Truth over lies. Hope over fear. And thanks to you, we did.
Today, we've created more jobs than any administration ever at this point in a presidency. Vaccines and tests are easily available for every American. We've worked with Republicans to rebuild our nation's infrastructure. We've tackled the inflation crisis head-on by investing in our supply chain, and we've passed historic legislation to bring down costs for families. Millions of Americans will be relieved of crushing student debt. And we've made the single-biggest investment in climate in our nation's history.
