Pat --
It is an unbelievably difficult task to fight onward in the midst of tremendous pain and grief.
But this moment is not the time to despair or to give up. Now is the time to fight like hell to honor the life's work and towering legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
We have to win more than just the White House, Pat. We have no choice but to also elect a Democratic Senate majority that will confirm fair-minded Supreme Court appointees who will protect the rights of millions of Americans and their families. Our health care, our environment, our workers, a woman's right to make her own health care choices, and our voting rights depend on it.
Asking for contributions to our party in the wake of this harrowing loss is not easy for me. But it is absolutely clear that Justice Ginsburg spent her final years and months fighting through pain for all of us -- and now we must do the same to honor her legacy.
We don't have the luxury of time on our side as votes are already being cast in states across the country, so I am respectfully asking you to join me in channeling the loss, pain, or even the fear you may be feeling right now into the action that this generation-defining moment demands:
Will you rush a $7 donation to the Democratic Party right now? The DNC is the sole party committee tasked with electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, flipping the Senate, and winning seats down-ballot -- so every penny you can give will be put directly toward electing Democrats who will defend the ideals that Justice Ginsburg made her life's purpose.
I am asking you to hold onto hope for a more just, more equal tomorrow. We can win if we work together.
In unity,
Tom
Tom Perez
Chair
Democratic National Committee
P.S. With health care, voting rights, and more on the ballot, there has never been a more urgent moment to endure in our fight to protect our democracy and win Democratic seats in every corner of our country. For the Affordable Care Act, for immigrants, for Roe v. Wade, and so much more, I am asking: Please donate $7 to the DNC to help elect Democrats who will carry on the fight toward equal justice under law.
