re: Donald Trump's "Muslim registry"

Fighting back to Trump and the GOP starts now Democrats

Standing up to Trump and the GOP starts right now. Pitch in $10 or more to help Democrats fight back:

We're in the second week of President-elect Trump's transition -- and some of the worst campaign rhetoric we heard in the last year is now rearing its head in the form of policy plans for the Trump administration.

Last weekend on 60 Minutes, Trump said "don't be afraid" to those who are anxious about what his presidency means for them. But the past few days have given us more than enough reason to be afraid.

Just last night, a pro-Trump surrogate argued on Fox News that a registry of Muslim immigrants -- something that has been floated in recent days by the Trump transition team -- has a constitutional precedent... in the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Let's not forget that Vice President-elect Mike Pence defended Trump's policy of "extreme vetting" so we "don't bring people into the United States who are... hostile to the American way of life."

Or that one of Trump's closest advisors -- who is currently under consideration to be our next Attorney General -- is Kris Kobach, who actually designed and implemented a Muslim registry while working in the Bush administration after 9/11. The program was viewed as a failure and was disbanded, but it doesn't sound like Kobach learned that lesson and is more than willing to help Trump try it again.

This is what we're up against. We have to be vigilant and we have to work together as Democrats to fight back and make our voices heard that this is not normal and not acceptable. Pitch in $10 or more today to help us do it.
